The four seasons
Colour analysis has four main seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each has its own colour palettes, which complement different skin tones, hair colours, and eye colours.
The twelve sub-seasons
Each season has three sub-seasons. For example, Summer includes True Summer (the original), Soft Summer, which leans towards Autumn, and Light Summer, which leans towards Spring.

Start thinking about colour
Start by becoming more aware of colour. Consider your skin tone, hair colour, and eye colour, as well as which colours make you look fresh and vibrant.
Self-analysis
Take an online self-test. You’ll find plenty online, and we’ve linked ours below. It often gives a good first indication.
Professional analysis
The most reliable way to determine your season is through a professional colour analysis. You can do this either online (e.g., with us) or in a studio.

Using colour analysis in daily life
Gradual change
Introduce your new seasonal colours gradually as you shop, and experiment with accessories in those colours to complement your existing garments.
Realistic timeline
Remember that this is a lifelong journey. A realistic timeline for updating your wardrobe might be one or a few years, rather than just a few months.
Shopping tips
Keep your colour palette on your phone so you can compare colours directly while shopping. With practice, identifying the right shades becomes easier.

Flexibility in colour choices
While colours from your season are generally the most flattering for you, that doesn’t mean they’re the only ones you can wear!
Experiment
You can experiment with colours outside your palette, especially in accessories or in smaller amounts away from the face.
Start with sister palettes
Once you’re comfortable with your palette and ready to branch out, start with the seasons closest to your own (see link below).

The right foundation
Colour analysis helps you find a foundation that matches your skin tone and undertones, creating a natural base.
Lipstick that lifts
The right shade of lipstick can elevate your entire look. “Winters” can wear bold, vivid reds, while “Summers” often look best in softer pinks.
The importance of blush
Colour analysis helps you choose blush that gives a natural glow. “Springs” can look radiant in peach tones, while “Autumns” often wear terracotta well.

In-person analysis
An in-person analysis takes place face-to-face, with a skilled consultant providing an accurate assessment of your colours.
Digital analysis
Online analysis is based on photos and questionnaires. A skilled analyst can deliver equally accurate results online.
Accuracy
Both methods are effective. An in-person analysis can be an exciting and enjoyable experience. A digital analysis is often more affordable and includes a detailed report.
